Types of Credit
The educator workshops listed on this site have been approved for Teacher Renewal (T) and Staff Development (S) Credit by the Wake County Public School System, for CDA Credit (D) by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition, and for Child Care Credit (D) by the Child Day Care Section of the North Carolina Section of the North Carolina Department of Human Resources, Division of Facility Services.
WCPSS eSchools Credit (E)
eSchools credit is awarded to participants who are employees of the Wake County Public School System. Fall workshops will be recorded under session number 281314701 for standard credit. Spring workshops, February to May, will be recorded under session number 281314801 for standard credit. There is NO charge for WCPSS employees to attend these eSchool workshops.
Teacher Renewal Credit (T)
Teacher Renewal Credit is awarded to participants who are graduates of an accredited college/ university and hold a North Carolina Teaching Certificate.
- For non-WCPSS employees, a minimum of 10 hours of teacher workshops sponsored by Project Enlightenment from 8/08 through 5/09 is required to receive teacher renewal credit (10 hours of workshops = 1.0 teacher renewal credit). Project Enlightenment does not award less than 1.0 teacher renewal credit.
- After earning the minimum 1.0 teacher renewal credit, participants will receive 0.1 credit for each additional hour of workshops attended.
- A maximum of 5.0 teacher renewal credits may be earned through Project Enlightenment-sponsored teacher workshops in a one-year period.
Staff Development Credit (S)
Staff Development Credit is awarded to those participants who do not hold a NC Teaching Certificate and want a record of all of the Project Enlightenment-sponsored teacher workshops they have attended from 8/08 through 5/09. One hour of staff development credit will be awarded for every hour of attendance in Project Enlightenment-sponsored teacher workshops from 8/08 to 5/09 .
Child Care/CDA Credit (D)
Child Care and Child Development Associate credit is awarded in the nine areas designated by the NC Department of Human Resources, Division of Facility Services and the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition.
Note: In most instances, participants will receive 1.0 CHC/CDA credit for each hour of attendance in workshops listed in this booklet; however, the Child Care Section may approve a workshop for fewer hours than listed here.
Child Care Admission Tickets
Centers and preschools may purchase "spaces" at workshops and request tickets to distribute to their staff as desired.
Please note: The person who attends the first session of a series must attend all sessions of that series. Also, include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your registration so we can mail your tickets to you.
